Posh Garden Marquee Hire is a small marquee and furniture hire company, serving the whole of Essex, as well as parts of Suffolk and East London. We have been providing high-quality marquees since 2005 – and have a wealth of experience and knowledge when it comes to all things marquees. Rest assured, your event is in safe hands!

Our story

Posh Garden Marquee Hire was founded in 2005 by Andrew Brown. He had already worked with several large marquee companies in Essex and was dismayed that they were only really interested in charging their customers thousands of pounds for large, unsuitable marquees. Andrew knew that most people simply wanted small, quality marquees at a reasonable price – and that they also appreciated a free site visit to discuss their event. And so, Posh Garden Marquee was ‘born’ in a small container in Chelmsford, Essex!

Fast forward to the present day, and we’re now of course in a much bigger premises to accommodate our growing range of marquees – as well as our sister company, leisuretimehire.co.uk, which was founded in 2015 for those who wish to hire our furniture and marquee equipment only. In 2020, Sam joined the business to oversee the day-to-day running of the company, organising deliveries, equipment maintenance and building marquees and much, much more. We don’t know what we ever did without him!

Our services

All the Posh Garden Marquee Hire marquees have been carefully selected to be as good looking as they are practical. 10 years ago, we moved away from using inferior “party tent” material marquees, used by so many business, to our own design, featuring 500g/m² PVC walls and roofs with 100% water and UV protection – meaning you’re covered, whatever the British weather throws at us! Flooring in the marquees is so important – it must look good, provide a safe and comfortable surface for guests to walk (and dance!) on and be able to withstand accidental spills. That’s why we have chosen high quality coir matting flooring which is naturally beautiful and can be securely pegged. Also we know that laying carpet directly to the ground is not only dangerous, but looks terrible too – so we have  invested in board flooring, which is covered by new carpet. We also stock over other essentials, such as 500 chairs, 80 tables, fridges, dance floors and much more!

Our marquees, furniture and flooring are always thoroughly cleaned between each use as you would expect. Within our premises, we have a large area for cleaning the marquee roofs, walls and flooring. We use winches and pulleys to hang our marquees to ensure they are dried properly – which means we keep them free of mildew and mould.
